Job Summary
This position provides patient care in a fast-paced community pharmacy setting across multiple Lexington, KY locations, including KY Clinic Pharmacy, Bluegrass Clinic Pharmacy at the Beaumont Center location, and the Fountain Court Pharmacist Care Team. The pharmacist compounds and dispenses medications pursuant to authorized prescriptions; reviews and interprets prescriptions and medication profiles to ensure safe and appropriate therapy while identifying potential drug interactions; supports specialized programs including the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance Program, Ryan White Part C, Pharmacy Partners, and Mail Order services; and manages inventory and technician staff to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality customer service. This role requires flexible shift coverage including weekend and some holiday rotations during operating hours which may vary by location.

Responsibilities

Compound and dispense medications pursuant to authorized prescriptions.

Review and interpret prescriptions and medication profiles to ensure safe and appropriate therapy; identify potential drug interactions.

Support specialized programs including the Kentucky AIDS Drug Assistance Program, Ryan White Part C, Pharmacy Partners, and Mail Order services.

Manage inventory and technician staff to ensure operational efficiency and high-quality customer service.

Provide patient counseling and ensure clear communication for safety checks.

Qualifications

Required Education:

BS Pharmacy or Pharm D

Required Related Experience:

0 yrs.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

Licensed or eligible for license as a Pharmacist in Kentucky. Must be licensed in the State of KY on day one of employment and maintained throughout time in position.

Physical Requirements:

May involve repetitive motion tasks, prolonged standing or sitting (often for 8–12 hour shifts), frequent walking, bending, and reaching. Lifting up to 25-50 lbs, fine motor skills for handling small medication items, and clear communication/vision for patient counseling and safety checks.

Preferred Education/Experience:

Ambulatory/Retail Pharmacy Experience preferred. PharmD or BS from College of Pharmacy with eligibility to be licensed in KY.

Shift & Location Details
Shift:

Primarily covering shifts as needed including weekend shifts at Community Pharmacy and Ryan White Services locations. Availability during operating hours and days of operation (subject to change). Some holidays rotation may be required. Shifts may be at KY Clinic Pharmacy, Beaumont Clinic Pharmacy, and Fountain Court Pharmacist Care Clinic in the Lexington, KY area.
