Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Investment Execution leads the execution of the loan lifecycle with a strong emphasis on project management, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder communication for a private lending platform serving homebuilders and residential developers. This role serves as the central point of coordination between company leadership, capital partners, and the closing team, ensuring alignment, transparency, and timely execution across all transactions. The Senior Manager is responsible for driving deals from approval through funding with a disciplined, process-oriented approach, while providing clear communication to internal leadership and external capital partners on progress, risks, and timelines.
Responsibilities
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Own and drive the closing process from approval through funding, with an emphasis on timeline management, coordination, and execution certainty.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Act as the central project manager across all active transactions.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Coordinate with developers, homebuilders, land use attorneys, title/escrow agents, and municipalities.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Review and approve closing packages, loan documents, development agreements, and funding wires.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Ensure satisfaction of all conditions precedent, including entitlements, permits, and equity requirements.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Resolve complex closing issues such as title exceptions, phased takedown structures, or incomplete development milestones.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and defensible for internal and investor review.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Maintain clear deal status reporting and milestone tracking.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Partner with credit teams to ensure alignment between underwriting assumptions and real-world builder execution.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Maintain disciplined credit and operational standards while supporting flexible deal structuring.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Identify and mitigate risks related to entitlements, infrastructure completion, cost overruns, and absorption.
Loan Closing & Funding Execution — Track diligence progress and escalate risks.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Build scalable operational processes tailored to builder and developer needs.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Develop standardized diligence and closing frameworks for A&D and lot banking transactions.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Lead, mentor, and grow a team of closing managers, analysts, and operations professionals.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Monitor pipeline health, closing timelines, and funding milestones tied to builder schedules.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Implement process improvements to increase speed, transparency, and execution certainty.
Operational Leadership & Process Optimization — Establish accountability and reporting cadence.
Cross-Functional & Client-Facing Leadership — Serve as a key partner to originations in structuring transactions for builder and developer clients.
Cross-Functional & Client-Facing Leadership — Act as central communication point for investors and capital partners.
Cross-Functional & Client-Facing Leadership — Coordinate with capital markets and funding partners to align on deal structures and capital deployment.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field
5+ years of experience in residential A&D lending, land finance, or private real estate credit
Experience managing complex transactions/projects
Strong understanding of lot development lifecycle, including entitlements, horizontal construction, and builder takedowns
Extensive experience managing loan or real estate-related closings and due diligence
Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced lending or development environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to coordinate across teams and stakeholders
Ability to deliver speed + certainty of close in competitive land acquisition environments
Advanced problem-solving in complex, phased development deals
Process-driven mindset with focus on scalability and efficiency
Excellent communication and relationship management with sophisticated borrowers
Preferred Experience
Experience working directly with national and regional homebuilders
Familiarity with lot banking, JV structures, and phased takedown agreements
Background in high-growth private lending platforms or debt funds
Experience with construction draw administration and capital planning
