Position Summary
The Turnout Gear ISP Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the inspection, cleaning, repair, tracking, and compliance of structural firefighting personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards (including NFPA 1850). This role serves as the primary liaison between the fire department and Vogelpohl Fire Equipment, ensuring all turnout gear remains safe, compliant, and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule advanced cleaning, inspections, and repairs of firefighter turnout gear
Create work orders and maintain detailed records of all cleaning, inspections, and repairs performed
Assist with shipping and receiving of firefighter gear
Assist in the inspection and cleaning of firefighter turnout gear
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational and record keeping skills
Proficient computer skills for documentation and tracking repairs
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Experience
Previous experience working with firefighter turnout gear
Familiarity with NFPA 1850 standards for inspection and repair
