Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a
Shift Supervisor
at
San Pasqual Academy
in Escondido, California. San Pasqual Academy is located on a 238-acre campus in rural San Pasqual Valley. SPA offers residential staff and house parents who mentor and tutor students, teach age-appropriate independent living skills, encourage participation in sports and recreation, assist in career exploration, and promote family living skills.
Pay
Starting at $70,304 annually.

What you will do
The Shift Supervisor is a key member of the Site Management Team responsible for the daily oversight of Group Living operations, staff supervision, and student safety. This position provides leadership, structure, and direction to ensure that all residential programming aligns with Rite of Passage (ROP) policies, Title 22 regulations, and licensing standards. The Shift Supervisor monitors daily schedules, staffing ratios, and site safety; coaches and develops team members; facilitates meetings, fire drills, and incident reporting; and ensures accurate documentation and compliance across departments. They oversee staff performance, manage scheduling and resources, and support crisis intervention efforts while modeling professionalism, accountability, and ROP’s core values. Acting as a mentor to both staff and students, the Shift Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a positive, structured, and safe living environment for all program participants.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Behavioral Science, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
At least three years of experience in juvenile treatment, corrections, or residential care, including one year in a supervisory role
Meet all state licensing and ROP requirements
Valid California Driver’s License with a clean three-year driving record
Successfully pass a background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test; ability to pass a search of the child abuse central registry
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Flexibility to work weekends, overnights, and on-call as needed
Be at least 21 years of age

1:00pm–11:00pm, Wednesday–Saturday
