Laundry Assistant opportunity!
Full-time Days / AM shift
Scheduled 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. - 40 hours per week - Includes every other weekend rotation
Responsibilities
Perform day to day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization.
Work independently or in a team environment ensuring the use of equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately (sorting, washing, chemical application, water temperature).
Complete assigned tasks based on location's standard processes and policies.
Follow infection prevention guidelines for handling contaminated laundry according to organizational and healthcare industrial laundry standards.
Participate in laundry collection and sorting, and the handling, storage and distribution of clean laundry according to location policies.
Collect dirty linens and distribute clean and disinfected linens; perform washing, drying, folding, and labeling as required by location policies.
Store and secure laundry supplies and equipment per location policies.
Use all required PPE as outlined in location policies.
Performs tasks that may include lifting up to 30-50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 500 lbs on flat surfaces or ramps; stand for the majority of shift; may be exposed to equipment noise.
Work hours may vary by patient needs and may include overtime, call, back-up call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to use a computer; prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting; knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning is helpful.
Depending on location, must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
