Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing our passengers with superior customer service from behind the ticket counter or on the station floor or platform.

Essential Functions

Greet, serve, and ensure the comfort of each passenger.

Assist customers with special needs, luggage, and boarding trains.

Make ticket reports promptly and safeguard company funds; prepare related reports.

Maintain proper care and preventative maintenance of ticket printers and Quik‑Trak machines; keep information racks filled; perform miscellaneous clerical duties related to the station.

Disseminate verbal and printed information to passengers, including schedules, fares, routing, city highlights, boarding information, tours, and other intermodal transportation.

Ensure timely boarding of passenger trains; verify that passengers are properly ticketed or have the proper travel documents and that baggage requirements are met prior to admission to station platforms.

Perform janitorial duties.

Handle checked baggage, package express and company materials in the station and on/off train.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to lift items up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to push or pull a baggage cart and operate baggage equipment (e.g., tow tractor, golf cart).

Must have a high‑school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

Skilled in processing all types of Amtrak tickets and a thorough understanding of tariffs to price tickets properly.

Qualified with the operation of Arrow, RailRes/Stars, and QuikTrak; positioned under all corporate, company, and station policies.

Familiar with the operation of the Passenger Information system.

Proficient with baggage & express operations and able to quote rates & information.

Communications And Interpersonal Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Maintain a positive, good‑natured attitude.

Comfortable with interacting with customers, speaking on a public address system, and using Amtrak computer systems.

Part Time Schedule
This is a part‑time position: Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2:00 PM to 10:45 PM (Central Time).

Hourly rate: $29.29 – $39.05 (with opportunity for increases per the applicable collective bargaining agreement).
