Position Summary
As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at a local Walmart retail store, your role will involve executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the store. You will adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conduct inspections, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager.
Position Requirements
18 years or older
High School Diploma or equivalent
Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
Can move up and down ladders frequently
Comfortable working at heights frequently
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
Able to work in various temperatures
Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade
Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand tools, power tools, and other equipment
Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders for Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Compensation
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors including skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications, and other job‑related factors. An additional bonus may be available and will be disclosed during the interview process. The hourly wage range is $21.00 – $39.00, with additional premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Bonuses may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
Minimum Qualifications
Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade, or 5 years' experience in the same trades.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program
License in related trade in the city and/or state where job is located
Intermediate level proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
