Position Summary
This position will be responsible to successfully operate all equipment within the bonding process (either in small parts [bond layup / de-flash / surface prep], or large parts). Standard work methods and safe work habits must be followed to ensure conformance to customer requirements. This position reports to a Value Stream Manager and works under the direction of a Team Lead. This is a second shift position, Monday-Thursday, 3:15pm-1:15am, and included a 10% shift differential.
Job Specifications
Basic qualifications:
High school diploma or high school equivalency required.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Successful completion of relevant coursework in an accredited advanced manufacturing program may be substituted for experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with composite materials preferred.
Basic mechanical aptitude; familiarity with metric system preferred.
Excellent hand eye coordination including the ability to manipulate small items with speed and accuracy.
Capable of producing fine finish work and assembling components accurately.
Requires good organization skills and attention to detail.
Capable of working with epoxy and adhesive materials.
Ability to participate effectively in a team environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills including software data entry and keyboarding.
Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards preferred.
Working Conditions
The work is performed in a plant environment. Employees will be exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Employees must wear eye protection in manufacturing areas approximately 90% of a standard work day and ear protection during certain operations approximately 10% of a standard work day. Various moving parts and machinery are common to manufacturing facilities. Frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stand and walk. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Candidates for positions with Safran Aerospace Composites must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employment eligibility verification will be required at the time of hire.
