Job Title: Production Technician

Job Description
The Production Technician supports safe and efficient cylinder processing by loading and unloading cylinders, performing visual inspections, re‑qualifying and repairing cylinders, and preparing them for shipment. This role works with hand tools and mechanical equipment in a production and warehouse environment, ensuring all work follows established procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Load and unload trucks or pallets with cylinders scheduled for testing or with completed cylinders ready for shipment.

Perform initial visual inspections on cylinders to identify any obvious defects or issues before processing.

Identify cylinder contents prior to removing labels to ensure safe handling and compliance with procedures.

Shot blast cylinders to clean and prepare them for further processing, then move them to the next work area.

Re‑qualify acetylene cylinders according to established procedures and safety standards.

Repair and re‑valve cylinders as needed, following established mechanical and safety procedures.

Paint cylinders as required, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to established painting procedures.

Handle general production tasks such as packaging, loading, unloading, and material handling as needed.

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move cylinders and related materials.

Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a safety‑conscious approach in all tasks.

Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary to support production and warehouse operations.

Essential Skills

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Ability to work with hand tools and mechanical equipment in a production setting.

Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and repairs.

Safety‑conscious mindset with consistent adherence to safety procedures.

Capability to perform general labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and packaging.

Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Reliability in following established procedures for cylinder inspection, re‑qualification, repair, and painting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous knowledge of cylinders and industrial gases is preferred.

Experience in production, general labor, or warehouse environments is beneficial.

Experience with forklift operation is a plus.

Experience with painting in an industrial or production environment is helpful.

Comfort working in a general production environment handling repetitive tasks.

Use of safety toe shoes in the work environment is required.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and warehouse environment focused on cylinder processing and handling. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday on a 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. shift. Work involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs, loading and unloading cylinders, and operating or working around forklifts and mechanical equipment. The environment includes tasks such as shot blasting, painting, and general production work, with a strong emphasis on safety practices. Safety toe shoes are required as part of the dress code to ensure proper foot protection on the production floor.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
