
QA Systems Coordinator

Job Purpose
Implement and maintain the facility’s quality systems, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the quality systems. Maintain FDA and state regulatory standards and ensure plant meets requirements for GFSI certification including food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
Serve as the acting GFSI expert for the facility
Maintain the facility’s GFSI certification, ensuring changes are reviewed and implemented as needed
Partner with other departments to ensure compliance to regulatory and GFSI requirements; follow up to ensure identified non-conformances are adequately investigated and closed out
Perform ongoing GFSI gap analysis for the facility
Assist with training to plant departments on GFSI standards and regulations
Provide guidance to the facility on regulatory issues for local, state, and federal agencies
Co-lead facility audits of the quality and food safety system in addition to program/facility audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits
Maintain the company’s quality control, compliance, and assurance programs; maintain Quality Systems Manual for the facility
Monitor adherence to SOPs and GMPs; assist with the development and implementation of work instructions and assist with training employees to follow as needed
Support the plant's Environmental Monitoring Program
Assist with the review of pre-op and production data
Verify production paperwork including CCP checks, label checks, weight checks, and others as required
Assist with label verification checks as needed
Participate on the HACCP and Recall team
Co-lead monthly HACCP/food safety/quality meeting
Review all HACCP documentation to ensure compliance
Review the food safety plan as required when new raw ingredients, finished products, equipment, and/or processes change
Assist with customer complaint investigations as needed; provide trending on customer complaints and areas for improvement in the facility
Assist with shelf life studies as needed
Support the food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)
3 years of quality control experience in the food industry or bachelor’s degree in a related field
2+ years of SQF practitioner experience preferred or equivalent training and recognized aptitude
Knowledge of food safety programs and systems: GFSI training, SQF practitioner, and HACCP certification; PCQI training preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, motivation, decision making, relationship building, and coaching
Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

The salary range for this role is $68,500.00 to $82,200.00 annually. Pay is based upon several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Rise Baking Company complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
