Job Overview
This role requires regular onsite work and flexibility to float between multiple office locations, including Bryan, Edgerton, Edon, Montpelier, and Pioneer, based on operational needs.

Education
A high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
A minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred.

Preferred Skills

Moderate reading, writing, and grammar skills.

Proficient analytical and mathematics skills.

Proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills.

Proficient eye‑hand coordination.

Ability to operate various office machines.

Ability to lift approximately fifty (50) lbs. of coin.

Visual and auditory skills.

Role and Responsibilities
Perform a variety of duties to support the customer service, sales, and the paying and receiving functions of the community office. Coordinate work within the department, with other departments, and provide reports as required. Respond to inquiries and requests for information.

Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Maintains an awareness of new business opportunities and offers relevant products and services.

Acts as a referral and sales catalyst, meeting or exceeding established goals.

Handles customer concerns regarding statement reconciliation and routine questions.

Maintains knowledge of current bank products and services.

Processes changes to existing accounts as requested by clients.

Assists in banking center call efforts by reviewing, updating, and calling prospect lists regularly.

Accurately processes various types of deposits, payments, transfers, etc., in a timely and professional manner.

Cashes checks within approved authority and operating policy.

Sells cashier’s checks and money orders.

Processes night deposits and mail deposits.

Maintains an approved level of cash; turns in excess and mutilated cash.

Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions; balances the cash drawer accurately and efficiently each day.

Prepares transactions for scanning (e.g., branch capture, batch submission).

Minimizes risk of losses, including cash differences and other controllable losses.

Prepares reports related to the function (e.g., currency transaction, BSA reports).

Demonstrates a working knowledge of State Bank’s security program.

Travels to other banking center locations as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties.

Abides by current laws and organizational policies designed to prevent harassment and discriminatory behavior.

Cooperates with, participates in, and supports all internal policies, procedures, and practices to promote risk management and regulatory compliance.

Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, compiles data as necessary, and provides it to appropriate bank personnel.

Constantly looks for ways to improve processes that enhance the customer experience, and communicates ideas to management.

Responds to inquiries within given time frames and established policy.

Ancillary Duties

May be required, on occasion, to provide safe deposit box services to customers.

May be required to support non‑paying and receiving activities, such as new accounts and consumer loans.

May balance, replenish, and/or service ATM machines.

May process and validate the accuracy of coin and currency amounts for cash shipments.

Performs supportive tasks that may be altered or redesigned per individual or departmental circumstances.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through different floors.

Must be able to position self to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.

Must remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.

Must occasionally move about inside the office to complete tasks.

Must adjust or move objects in all directions.

Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.

Constantly moves wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Occasionally operates machinery and/or power tools.

Occasionally operates motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Must assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work.

Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Engages in sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Occasionally moves objects up to 50 pounds.
