
Voter Engagement Coordinator

Position Summary
CASA in Action is seeking a full-time Voter Engagement Coordinator to lead our daily field operation activities in the Virginia Beach area, primarily by building and maintaining a strong team of canvassers to increase the share of the electorate with voters from working families and immigrant communities through direct voter contact work. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing leaders within their team. They will also succeed in engaging registered voters and voting-eligible community members to bring about real people-powered political movements. They will be committed to getting results in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing input or quality, and demonstrate a deep commitment to racial equity.
Essential Responsibilities
Implement Field Operation Plans: Meet with Regional Voter Engagement Manager, daily, to discuss daily field operations plans that meet daily program metrics and team-building goals. Prepare all canvassing equipment and supplies prior to launch. Lead all launch and debrief meetings with the assigned canvass team. Stay updated on election cycle news and program changes to disseminate information to your team.
Team Supervision: Lead implementation of daily work for assigned canvass team and monitor on-field progress to goals, including knock and conversation rates. Ensure your team, at all times, has the equipment and supplies needed to complete their work. Coach team, while in the field, on voter engagement best practices and candidate/issue talking points. Provide additional feedback and on-field training to improve the performance of underachieving team members. Respond to all on-field emergency and non-emergency incidents that may occur and report immediately to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager.
Voter Engagement: Conduct daily voter contact work; persuade and mobilize voters to turn out to vote and inform them of the voting process. Enter and report conversation data accurately and in a timely manner.
Team Outcome Reports: Report daily team outcomes, qualitative and quantitative, using internal reporting systems. Track individual canvasser attendance and time sheets and report them to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager.
Additional Tasks: Assist the Regional Voter Engagement Manager with canvasser recruitment and conduct pre-screen interviews with new recruits to provide the Regional Voter Engagement Manager with recommended canvassers for final interviews. Track and distribute all assigned canvassing equipment and supplies using the internal reporting system. Report to the Regional Voter Engagement Manager, when equipment and supply inventory is low and additional items are needed. Identify and coordinate events that benefit our campaign efforts. Collect media content while engaging with voters to share with Communications staff and lift up the voices of impacted voters. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to perform all of the duties outlined above.
A valid US Driver’s License and own car, required.
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
Experience working with immigrant or low-income communities.
Ability to work with a team and independently.
Self-motivated with a track record of displaying leadership, building team morale and excellent interpersonal skills.
Exude high energy in a fast-paced environment.
A demonstrated commitment to meeting a high bar and a history of getting things done even in the face of obstacles.
Strong knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN and Microsoft Excel to perform data entry and other basic computer-related tasks, a plus but not required.
Attention to detail to ensure all work is polished, accurate and precise.
Fluency in Spanish, preferred.

Compensation
$24 per hour
