Position Description
We are hiring a Senior Account Manager within the Hong Kong Global Wealth Management team, focused on growing our business with private banks in Hong Kong. Key responsibilities for this role include driving sales campaigns, relationship building, and presenting PIMCO’s views, with a focus on promoting our fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative solutions.
This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent relationship building and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the private bank distribution industry in Hong Kong. The position is viewed as a key hire to continue building PIMCO’s private bank business, which continues to be an area of focus and growth. This position reports to the Head of Hong Kong Global Wealth Management.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
Collaborate with our team to actively market and service PIMCO’s fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative strategies to our private bank partners in Hong Kong
Present on PIMCO’s investment views and products to clients via one-on-one meetings, branch briefings, client events, etc.
Leverage senior internal resources and specialists as appropriate, while also developing fixed income technical and macro expertise to represent the firm credibly
Develop and execute a business development and relationship management strategy for private bank clients
Client Relationship Management:
Foster and sustain robust, enduring relationships with our private bank distribution partners
Focus on building networks with the banks’ fund sales/product teams, investment counsellors, senior business and sales leaders
Collaborate with our broader Account Management team to cover relationships, both within Hong Kong and across Asia
Professionalism:
Demonstrate a solid dedication to embodying PIMCO's culture, values, and processes
Act as the primary contact for product-specific inquiries from clients and potential clients, offering up-to-date insights on the firm's investment philosophy, strategies, performance, etc.
Market/Competitor Research:
Develop and sustain an in-depth understanding of the business opportunities and challenges within the private bank segment in Hong Kong
Monitor developments in capital markets, major news releases and policy initiatives, and determine any implications for PIMCO strategies
Collect essential market information to pinpoint trends and customer needs. Evaluate strategies of competitors and refine your approach to preserve a competitive edge
Compliance and Regulation:
Ensure that all compliance and legal requirements are met and business is conducted in line with practice, taking appropriate action where necessary
Qualifications
Ideal Experience:
Proven track record and expertise in selling funds, cross-selling, client service, and relationship management within the Hong Kong private bank market
Team-oriented, with experience and comfort working within a global platform
Knowledgeable about investment management industry dynamics, particularly in meeting client needs at a sophisticated level
Deep understanding of economics, capital markets, and investments, backed by at least 10 years of relevant experience in financial services
Desired Personal Characteristics:
Possess self-discipline, confidence, resilience, decisiveness, trustworthiness, and excellent judgement in client matters
Stature, gravitas, and seniority to interact credibly at the highest level, both internally and externally
