
Production Supervisor

At Wesco, we are looking to hire a Production Supervisor who is results-driven, has the desire to excel, works with high energy, has a positive approach, is flexible, detail-oriented, and can lead our Manufacturing Team (assembly, cutting, machining, welding) to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and production goals. This position supports materials planning and logistics, analyzes production data, and drives continuous improvement. We are looking for a local (North Wales, PA) candidate.
What you will be doing
Safety
Ensure a compliant and safe work environment.
Lead incident and near-miss investigations and initiate corrective actions.
Leadership & People Management
Plan and coordinate hiring, staffing levels, job rotation, and overtime.
Coach, counsel, and appraise employee performance.
Foster positive employee relations built on trust, fairness, two-way communication, teamwork, and respect.
Manufacturing Operations
Lead and maintain manufacturing systems to achieve goals and production targets.
Standardize work processes to reduce variation and eliminate waste.
Assign/reassign workstations based on schedules and production requirements.
Ensure consistent application of manufacturing standards.
Support materials planning and logistics to meet delivery requirements.
Manage flow of parts, materials, inventory, productivity, and quality using lean/JIT (pull systems).
Ensure quality standards are met, investigate quality issues and resolve.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs; participate in preventive maintenance.
Maintain KPI boards and metrics; initiate improvement activities.
Lead safety, quality, productivity, and cost-reduction projects.
Training & Development
Oversee onboarding and cross-training of employees and maintain training matrices.
Develop employees through evaluations, coaching, and training plans.
Reporting & Communication
Prepare reports/spreadsheets; for production, quality, scrap, maintenance, and attendance.
Process payroll/timekeeping and training records.
Lead daily communications with production employees, support departments and management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Interview, hire, train, assign work, appraise performance, reward/discipline employees, and resolve issues in accordance with policies and applicable laws.
What are we looking for
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial/Operations Management, or Engineering preferred.
3–5 years of manufacturing, quality, or production control experience a plus.
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; Project/PowerPoint preferred). ERP experience preferred.
