Transportation Supervisor

The Transportation Supervisor coordinates and supervises the overall operations, activities, drivers and equipment within the direct area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:

Provides leadership, supervision and oversight to direct reports (drivers) within direct area of responsibility.
Work in conjunction with the Regional Transportation Manager and Branch Manager to manage daily operations and build a winning culture within the Branch.
Work with the People & Culture team to actively participate in the applicant hiring and termination process.
Maintain a viable relationship with truck drivers, customers and internal departments to ensure needs are met at all times.
Provide training and supervision of all truck drivers and support the Branch Manager. Promptly report any staff issues or concerns to the Branch Manager for follow‑up and resolution.
Coordinate with the Fleet Manager to ensure all trucks are routinely serviced, registered, inspected and that all decals are maintained as required. Ensure that truck logs and gas receipts are submitted on a daily basis. Maintain equipment records and employee files.
Conform to expected time tables and communicate any changes in schedule, operational difficulties, etc., to Branch Manager.
Ensure maintenance and cleanliness of trucks in accordance with established health and safety checklists. Establish and monitor a system of vehicle safety checks.
Develop a culture of safety among direct reports by serving as a role model of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for the fundamental rights, dignity and privacy of others.
Immediately report and oversee the clean‑up and restoration of all spills, mixes, accidents as required by company policy and government rules and regulations. Implement crisis intervention techniques as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by operational needs.
Ensure the confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained.
Demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Sunoco’s policy and procedure.
Qualifications and Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent required.
1+ years supervisor experience preferred.
Valid Class A Driver’s License is an asset.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
Demonstrated analytical ability and attention to detail.
Proven record of taking initiative and responsibility, both individually and as a member of a team.
Ability to function in a high‑stress environment and deal with a variety of issues in different situations.
Solid judgment, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
