Position Summary
The Fiber Splicer Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cable systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality network performance by delivering precise splicing work, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and maintaining industry safety standards.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on technical work, problem solving, and contributing to essential communications infrastructure.
Qualifications
Required
Experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, or telecommunications installation
Knowledge of fusion splicing equipment and fiber preparation techniques
Ability to read and interpret splice diagrams and construction prints
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments
Preferred
1+ years of fiber splicing experience
Experience with OTDR testing equipment
Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction practices
CDL license or ability to obtain one
OSHA or safety training certifications
