Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) Manager
F/A-18 Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team in Patuxent River, MD. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manage, develop and motivate employees
Candidate should have knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems
The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
Communication with program leadership using a variety of media, to clearly convey information and ideas
Basic Qualifications
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
Experience in a management and/or team lead role in an engineering and/or test environment
General knowledge of instrumentation, data systems and data processing
Preferred Qualifications
Have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts
Experience working in a Flight Test environment
Experience working with Navy/Government customers
Experience working with flight test instrumentation and data systems
Experience working with data processing
