24-Hour Call Coverage High-Acuity Cardiac Program Ongoing Monthly Need

365 Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum opportunity in Boise, Idaho. This assignment offers 24-hour call coverage within a high-performing cardiac surgery program supported by experienced APPs, perfusionists, and dedicated cardiovascular critical care resources.

Immediate summer coverage is required, followed by an ongoing monthly schedule beginning in September.

Schedule Model

• 24-hour call shifts
• 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage included
• Full block availability required

Practice Overview

• Established 3-surgeon cardiothoracic program
• 7 APPs
• 4 perfusionists
• Dedicated cardiovascular service line
• EMR: Epic

Facility Resources

• 3 dedicated CVOR rooms
• 10-bed CVICU
• 16-bed step-down unit
• Dedicated cardiac surgery floor
• 1 dedicated CT surgery OR

Clinical Volume

• 400+ heart surgeries annually
• 150+ thoracic surgeries annually
• Approximately 3 consults per day
• 1 2 surgeries per day

Clinical Scope

Providers should be comfortable performing:

• Adult cardiac surgery
• General thoracic surgery
• CABG
• Heart valve repair/replacement
• TAVR / SAVR support
• Aortic dissection repair
• Tube thoracostomy
• Pericardial window
• Thoracotomy / lung resection / pneumonectomy
• VA & VV ECMO placement

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour cardiothoracic call coverage
• Evaluate consults and urgent surgical patients
• Perform scheduled and emergent CT surgical procedures
• Collaborate with APPs, perfusionists, ICU staff, and hospital teams
• Maintain high-quality outcomes and timely documentation

Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Completion of accredited residency and CT fellowship
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Thoracic Surgery
• Active Idaho license or active IMLC
• ACLS certification
• DEA and controlled substance registration
• Clean malpractice and background history
• Must be available for required coverage blocks and ongoing monthly schedule
