Position Summary
The Student Services Coordinator supports the Master of International Policy (MIP) program’s growth and student success. This role is responsible for the full student lifecycle: from initial recruitment and enrollment to securing internships and permanent career placement upon graduation. The Student Services Coordinator reports directly to and under the direction of the Director of the Master in International Policy program.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Understanding of UGA Career Center and Mentor Program Operations
Understanding of key coaching process concepts
Understanding of coaching competencies and ethical standards
Duties/Responsibilities
Recruitment & Admissions
Develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan to increase cohort size.
Represent the MIP program at graduate fairs, professional conferences, and campus events.
Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, managing the inquiry pipeline from first contact to matriculation.
Coordinate with the Graduate Program Administrator to streamline the application review process.
Advising, Career Development, & Internship Placement
Cultivate and maintain relationships with international policy organizations, NGOs, and government agencies to create internship pipelines.
Provide one-on-one academic advising and career coaching, including resume reviews, mock interviews, and job search strategies tailored to the international policy market.
Organize career workshops, networking events, and alumni panels.
Track and report on student placement data to satisfy accreditation and promotional needs.
Program Support & Administration
Collaborate with the Director of the MIP program and BBCITS leadership to align recruitment goals with program capacity.
Maintain the program’s digital presence (website updates and social media) specifically for recruitment and career success stories.
Assist in the planning of program-wide events such as orientation and graduation.
