Status: Paid Internship (part-time; project-based)

Overview
The Promotions & Social Media Intern supports RadioAlabama’s on-air promotions, events, and digital content. This role helps increase brand visibility, execute station promotions, assist onsite at events, and develop engaging social media content. Ideal for students in communications, marketing, PR, digital media, or related fields.

Responsibilities
Social & Digital Media

Create and schedule social media posts for station promotions, recurring features, and possible client campaigns

Post winner photos, event highlights, and recap content

Support social campaigns for recurring promotions (e.g., Free Lunch Friday, Donut Dash, First Responder of the Month, holiday giveaways)

Assist with graphic design using Canva

Help update station websites with contest or promotional content

Promotions & Events

Assist with planning and executing station promotions, contests, and on-site events

Help with occasional event logistics including setup, signage, and breakdown

Capture photos, short videos, and winner content at eventsPrepare contest forms and prize sheets

Manage prize pickup coordination and maintain prize inventory

Creative & Administrative Support

Support ad/graphic design for digital and social needs

Assist with promotion/sales package creation

Provide basic office and team support as needed

Use project tracking programs to ensure tasks are met

Qualifications
The ideal candidate:

Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

Has a creative eye and fine attention to detail

Is creative, organized, and a fast learner

Enjoys working in a fast-paced, media/advertising-driven environment

Can work independently and collaboratively

Has designed graphics for social media posting

Must adhere to RadioAlabama Brand Guidelines

Has basic experience with Canva, WordPress websites, social media platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google products

Has reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

Can be available for occasional evening or weekend events (sports, remotes, community appearances)

Preferred but not required:

Coursework or experience in communications, marketing, broadcasting, PR, or digital media

Familiarity with photography or short-form video creation
