Position Summary
DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers is seeking attorneys or recent 3L graduates to join our Wichita or Kansas City, MO office. The full‑time, in‑office role focuses on personal injury litigation, including managing caseloads, filing lawsuits, attending court hearings, taking depositions and serving as first chair at trial.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of cases requiring lawsuit filings.
Attend court hearings and take depositions.
Draft legal documents and briefings.
Serve as first chair during trial.
Pre‑Litigation Attorney Duties
Meet with clients and potential clients.
Handle case files and present cases to our focus group.
Prepare cases for demand, negotiate settlements, and attend court hearings for approval.
Act as second chair at trial.
Qualifications
Kansas bar license (or taking the next bar exam).
Applicants licensed in other states and working toward a Kansas or Missouri license encouraged to apply.
Attorneys based in the Kansas City office must be dual‑licensed in Kansas and Missouri.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary for new attorneys is $85,000. Attorneys with limited or some experience may be considered for a range of $85,000–$120,000 per year. After one year, eligible for 401(k) with a firm contribution of 3% of salary.
