About the Role
A well-established community medical center in the Greater Boston area is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join its expanding GI service line. This is a collaborative hire with an academic-affiliated Gastroenterology department , offering the stability of community practice with access to academic resources, specialty support, and optional teaching involvement.
The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician who values mission-driven, patient-centered care in a diverse community setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative gastroenterology care within a community hospital environment.
Perform routine GI procedures including EGD and colonoscopy .
Manage a broad range of GI conditions (GERD, liver disease, IBS/IBD, GI bleeding, etc.).
Participate in rotating inpatient coverage and call schedule .
Collaborate closely with a tertiary GI team for advanced or complex referrals.
Work within a multidisciplinary care team including APPs, GI nurses, and anesthesia support.
Optional academic engagement:
Teaching opportunities with medical students and residents
Participation in clinical quality initiatives
Optional scholarly or research involvement with the affiliated GI department
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
Completion of an ACGME-accredited GI fellowship
Eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure
Strong clinical competency with commitment to high-quality, equitable patient care
Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills
