Akkodis is seeking an
Engineer
for a
Contract
with a client in
Cary, NC/Clarks Summit, PA . The ideal candidate leads end‑to‑end migration of enterprise workloads from VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter to Red Hat OpenShift and KubeVirt, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and operational stability.
Rate Range:
$45/hour to $53/hour; negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Engineer Job Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end migration of virtualized workloads from VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter to Red Hat OpenShift and KubeVirt.
Design, deploy, and operate enterprise‑grade Red Hat OpenShift clusters across bare metal, on‑prem, and hybrid environments.
Administer the OpenShift cluster lifecycle, including installation, upgrades, patching, scaling, and ongoing node maintenance.
Support daily operations for VM and containerized workloads, ensuring high availability, live migration, performance tuning, and resilience.
Collaborate with storage teams to guide the configuration and management of SAN/NAS, CSI drivers, and persistent storage solutions for OpenShift.
Partner with Cyber Security and Network teams to implement IAM, RBAC, network policies, and security controls aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
8–10 years of hands‑on experience in VMware, OpenShift, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
Proven expertise in end‑to‑end migration from VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter to Red Hat OpenShift and KubeVirt.
Strong experience in OpenShift cluster administration with the ability to collaborate across storage, cyber security, and network teams to meet enterprise and regulatory standards.
