Duties

Serves within DLA Information Operations J6, Program Executive Office J62, and Enterprise Service Area Portfolio Management.

Serves as a Senior Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) Application Administrator supporting Windows, Linux and/or Unix-based client/server or web applications and acts as a member of a support team.

Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining COTS software applications.

Participates in a variety of system engineering assignments to include system design, product development and infrastructure support.

Analyzes impact of new requirements on area of responsibility and related areas.

Establishes and maintains communications with appropriate staff within DLA and DLA Information Operations ensuring knowledge transfer to advance and sustain mission requirements.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Tour of Duty: Set Schedule.

Security Requirements: Critical Sensitive with Secret Access.

Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Exempt.

Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.

Bargaining Unit Status: Yes.

Pre-Employment Physical: Not Required.

Selectees must have a REAL ID or other acceptable identification documents to access federal facilities.

This position may be used to fill future vacancies for various shifts located anywhere within DLA Information Operations J6.

Qualifications
To qualify for an IT Specialist (APPSW) level, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. For GS‑12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑11 level or equivalent under other pay systems.

Application administration concepts and techniques for integrating and optimizing components and applications.

Translating and interpreting functional requirements, testing, installing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining software.

Applying IT security principles and methods, including IT security products and services.

Development of scripts and applications in various programming languages or operating systems.

Common usage of Windows, Linux, and/or Unix operating systems.

Education: Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
