Position Overview
Senior Project Administrator at Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs (WRI), Rutgers University–Camden. Responsible for development, coordination, and management of complex research and evaluation projects in Southern New Jersey.
Responsibilities
Serve as Principal Investigator (PI) on large contracts and grants and as project coordinator on additional projects.
Lead WRI research teams and provide oversight across all phases: proposal drafting, project design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination.
Act as relationship manager for research partners and funders, including foundations, state and local agencies, and community-based organizations.
Manage timelines, budgets, and ensure compliance with Rutgers University and federal research guidelines.
Mentor and supervise student research assistants.
Represent WRI in meetings and public engagement events across Southern New Jersey and the State.
Communicate research findings to academic and non‑academic audiences through reports, presentations, panels, webinars, forums, etc.
Write reports, briefs, fact sheets, and other dissemination materials.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience leading large mixed-methods community-focused research and/or evaluation projects.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Regular, demonstrated experience communicating findings to diverse audiences.
Exceptional public speaking and engagement skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for field‑based activities across Southern New Jersey and the State.
Strong foundation in quantitative and qualitative social science research methods.
Proficiency in project management, strategic thinking, public speaking, and writing for public audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent) plus ≥5 years of relevant experience.
Experience conducting feasibility and economic impact studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and research in higher education settings.
Familiarity with Southern New Jersey and established network within the region.
Salary
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience within university policy and department budgets. Minimum $77,919.48, Mid Range $96,454.48, Maximum $114,989.48.

Salary Grade exempt (FLSA Exempt)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid work possibility under policy 60.3.22 (pilot until Aug 31 2024); flexible arrangements subject to change.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Combination of office‑based work on campus, remote work and fieldwork across Southern New Jersey and the State.
In‑person data collection, focus group and interview facilitation, and observations.
Requires reliable transportation and willingness to attend early‑morning or evening events occasionally.
May involve walking, standing, traveling, and lifting up to 20 lb.
