Pay Rate: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour
Scope of Work
The Senior Billing Specialist is responsible for the Company’s billing processes, along with project set‑up and revenue recognition policies and practices, maintenance of finance records, and the preparation of financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and federal government regulations to include FAR and CAS. The position will also be involved in the budgeting and forecasting process and supports multiple contract types.
Responsibilities
Prepare invoices for multiple contract types i.e. CPFF, T&M and FFP
Ensure invoices comply with the FAR/DFAR
Submit invoices through government systems i.e. WAWF and IPP
Verify labor hours, billing rates, indirect costs, and travel expenses
Track unbilled receivables and contract funding ceilings
Follow up with aging invoices
Support audits from the DCAA
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
4 years of experience can be exchanged in lieu of a degree.
6+ years of relevant experience in a government contracting environment
Experience billing multiple contract types (CR, T&M, FFP)
Experience preparing and submitting invoices to federal agencies
Experience working with government contract regulations such as the FAR/DFAR
Experience supporting government audits
Experience with Costpoint
Advanced Excel skills
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
Ability to occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel.
May occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
Clear vision to read documents on computer screens.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone/video meeting, and email.
