Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128‑bed, full‑service, acute‑care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state‑of‑the‑art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities

Performs skilled plumbing and general maintenance work to support safe, continuous hospital operations. Installs, maintains, and repairs domestic water, sinks, toilets, flush valves, eye wash stations, floor drains, and back‑flow related components, sanitary/storm drainage, and related utility systems; responds to routine and emergency service calls (leaks, clogs, floods, pump failures, loss of water pressure, odors/backups); and completes preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and protect patient care areas.

Coordinates planned shutdowns and restorations with clinical departments, follows infection prevention and life‑safety requirements, and documents all work labor in the CMMS/work order system.

Uses tools and equipment safely, communicates status clearly, and escalates specialized or regulated work (e.g., medical gas) per hospital policy.

Maintains clear communication with clinical
on‑clinical customers regarding impacts, timelines, and restoration verification.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Valid High Pressure Black Seal Boiler License or ability to obtain within 6 months of start.

Preferred Job Requirements:

New Jersey Plumbing license.

5+ years plumbing experience, preferably in a hospital or institutional setting.

Backflow or other trade‑relevant certifications.

OSHA or safety‑related certifications.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
