Quality Control Inspector

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or electronic inspection and test operations to determine adherence to standards, specifications, drawing requirements, procedures and more on any or all types of procured and production equipment, subassemblies, components or assemblies as directed.
Responsibilities
Inspection and testing of parts, materials, components and systems in areas such as Receiving, Shipping, Stores, Weld/Fabrication, Assembly, Testing, Calibration, Radiography and Coating inspections.
Visual examination using instruments, gauges, jigs, templates or other measuring devices, including nondestructive test methods, to ensure adherence to standards, specifications and drawings.
Operation of standard calibration and test equipment.
Rejection of parts, materials, assemblies, equipment, tooling or components that do not meet requirements.
Assisting or training other inspectors in inspections, non‑destructive testing, x‑ray, calibration, coatings, observations and functional testing (including electrical, mechanical, structural, etc.).
Review of software data on vendor supplied items to determine acceptability.
Generation of quality reports, completion of inspection check‑lists, nonconformance documents, calibration reports, x‑ray reports and other quality documents and records as applicable.
Adherence to all safety requirements, departmental instructions and TMLS policies and procedures.
Direct interface with all levels of the organization, suppliers and customers as appropriate.
Performance of any and all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education: High School or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred.
Two (2) years of experience performing electro‑mechanical inspections, NDT training or equivalent field experience.
Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and to use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
Must pass required eye exams for NDT methods performed, as applicable.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands
Postural: Ability to move extremities and spine throughout a sufficient range of motion, including floor to overhead level. Flexing and twisting of the trunk and other awkward postures occasionally required.
Dexterity: Good dexterity and frequent use of one or two hands for tasks involving fingering, gripping and manipulation.
Cardiorespiratory Demand: Medium work involving heavy lifting; sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to tolerate medium demands in various temperature ranges and humidity.
General Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.
Physical Demand Level - Medium: Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
