SUMMARY
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying food safety and quality systems to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and SQF Food Safety Code. This role performs inspection, testing, documentation review, and process verification to ensure product safety, legality, and quality throughout production operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform quality and food safety checks and document results accurately
Inspect and conduct testing and record results as required, which may include but not limited to:
Visual Seam & Fill Weight
Raw Product Evaluation
Chlorine Monitoring
Cooked Product Evaluations
Thermometer Calibration
Code Verification
Monitor compliance with SQF, HACCP, allergen control & GMPs
Identify and report food safety or quality issues
Place product on hold when required and notify quality management
Conduct GMP inspections
Other duties may be assigned as needed to better serve the Quality Department

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent verbal skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate with others orally.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Ability to utilize computer/Ipad for documentation purposes.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and tasks with frequent interruptions while maintaining flexibility and composure.
Organized with strong attention to detail and ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
