About The Role
The Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the UK’s most exciting apprenticeship programmes. The scheme provides career changing opportunities for residents close to the airport. Site managers oversee operations on a day-to-day basis, ensure that work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the right quality standards. Their duties will be shared across the site and the project office, often updating the management team of site progress, risks, and issues. Duties typically include:

Thebroad purpose of this occupation is to understand a client's requirements asprovided in design specification and then build and test high-quality codesolutions to deliver the best outcome. Software development technicians are thesupportive entry-level team members helping to create computer programs. Someassist in developing the applications that allow people to do specific tasks ona computer or another device. Duties may include:

Follow clearly defined requirements to deliver softwaredevelopment activities and products

Report progress against metrics on software developmentactivities accurately throughout the stages of the software developmentlifecycle

Work within operational requirements such as health and safety,budgets, brands and normal business protocols

Communicate outcomes from development activities to team membersand other stakeholders, both internal and external

Identify and implement security features of a proposed design

Write logical and maintainable software solutions in line withgiven specifications to meet the design requirements and organisational codingstandards

Apply security principles and practices to the softwaredevelopment tasks assigned

Typical Working Week
40 hours p/wwith start time between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Proactive approach, taking pride intheir work and taking accountability for decisions.

A love of variety in a role andability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced working environment

Ability to quickly prioritise tasksand the initiative to dive head-first into problem-solving

Excellent communication andcollaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teams

Ability to analyse and interpretinformation and effectively communicate this to different team members aaudiences

Ability to visit different sitesand training days

Curious to learn quickly in areactive and dynamic working environment.

Able to understand and followhealth and safety protocols

Qualifications required/desirable
MinimumRequirements

English andMaths at GCSE Grade 4 / C or above, or Functional Skills at Level 2 or above.

An individualpassionate about using software and IT systems and showing innovation when itcomes to problem-solving and reporting data to senior members of the team. Shouldbe comfortable in working with different IT/coding programmes and reporting sensitiveand accurate data to clients/stakeholders.

Key Training/College Information
K10 will enrol you onto the Level 3 Software DevelopmentTechnician course and fund your qualifications through an accredited trainingprovider

The apprenticeship duration is 18 months

Requirements for Start

Living in England for the last 3years and have right to work status

Not enrolled on any other courses

18+ due to site H&S rules
