Join a Leading Gastroenterology Practice as a Locum Physician in Lakewood, CO

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Physician specializing in Gastroenterology to provide crucial coverage for a prominent inpatient facility. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, and the chance to contribute to a high-level trauma and emergency care environment. Required Skills:
  • Valid medical license and board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Proven experience performing endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and general GI scopes.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
  • Ability to evaluate and manage complex GI conditions, GI bleed, and related emergencies.
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Additional procedural certifications beyond ERCP and EUS.
  • Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma center.
  • Prior locum or temporary assignment experience.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in Gastroenterology.
  • Prior experience in inpatient hospital settings and trauma centers.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR platform.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to work 5-7 days per month, scheduled in 24-hour call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM.
  • Availability for coverage from December 7, 2025, into early 2026, with potential ongoing shifts.
  • Compliance with credentialing, background checks, and EMR training requirements.
  • Willingness to stay at designated hotels using pre-negotiated rates.
  • Local or drive-in candidates highly preferred; travel exceptions must be documented.
  • Possession of or eligibility for Colorado medical licensure and correct credentialing documentation.
