Role Overview
The Senior Plant Controller serves as the senior finance leader for a flagship manufacturing plant. This role owns full‑cycle plant accounting including month‑end close and production accounting, cost control, and financial performance for the site while partnering closely with plant leadership to ensure alignment with corporate financial plans. Ensure plant activity aligns with the corporate‑approved financial plan. Set and enforce accounting standards and best practices at the plant level. Delivers daily, weekly, and monthly performance reporting with cross‑checks and variance analysis while owning the monthly forecast and budgeting process. Oversees timecard uploads, payroll inputs, and labor reporting, and produces detailed variance analysis for plant and corporate stakeholders. Acts as a key financial partner to the Plant Manager and plant leadership across Operations, HR, Quality, and Safety. The role is highly visible, leadership‑focused, and critical to stabilizing and elevating plant financial operations and performance.
Requirements
Strong manufacturing processes with 7-10+ years of experience
Expertise with ERP systems (preference Oracle‑based) supporting manufacturing, cost accounting, payroll, and financial reporting
Ownership of month‑end close, forecasts, budgets, and operational finance reporting
Ability to analyze time, labor, and cost and translate data into actionable performance insights
Comfort partnering with plant leadership and operating within executive financial frameworks
Ability to manage through change, staffing gaps, and process improvement initiatives
Willingness to work on‑site and remain highly visible in plant operations
Deep SAP experience
Nice to Have
Experience with multiple manufacturing systems (e.g., MAS, AP/payroll systems alongside Oracle)
SQL or programming background to support reporting, analysis, or system insights
Exposure to plant recapitalization or growth‑constrained facilities
Experience at flagship or high‑visibility manufacturing sites
