As a member of the Safran Seats business, you play a major role in teamwork that provides over one million seats to major airlines worldwide. Occupational Summary
Objective: Under general supervision, this position performs design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates changes with other internal company departments, vendors, and customers.
Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
A) Reviews specification as related to assigned job.
B) Prepares check list.
C) Prepares lay‑outs.
D) Prepares structural sub‑assemblies and drawings.
E) Prepares sketches for details.
F) Reviews drawing package to assure conformance to requirements.
G) Submits completed drawings to project lead for approval and release.
H) Liaison for assigned task.
I) Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
A. Education & Qualification Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree). Or a Master's degree in any of these disciplines.
B. Work Experience Technical knowledge – plus an additional 2 years of related design experience required with Bachelors degree, plus 1 year of related design experience required with Masters degree.
C. Professional Skills Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer. Must be able to provide complicated lay‑outs and program design studies, generate written communication, operate required office equipment, read and review written communication, and communicate clearly in English.
D. Behavioral Skills Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments and function as part of a design team.
E. Desirable Aspects Experience with APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D Problem Solving, CATIA V5, Pro‑E, and AutoCAD.
