Requirements
Board certified in Gastroenterology
Fellowship required
Active Texas medical license
ACLS

Required Procedures / Skills
Upper GI endoscopy
Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy
Upper GI endoscopy with foreign body removal
Upper GI endoscopy with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser)
Upper GI endoscopy with injection of varices
Diagnostic ERCP
Therapeutic ERCP
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG)
Esophageal dilatation / manometry
Esophageal manometry interpretation
Small bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy with biopsy
Colonoscopy with excision of polyp
Liver biopsy
Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
ERCP preferred

Assignment Details
Practice setting: Inpatient
Admissions required
Supervision of advanced practice providers not required
PEDs Level: 3
Facility Trauma Level: 3
Will see inpatient consults, ED consults, and transfers
Support staff: PA/NPs available Monday-Friday
EMR: Athena / Medhost
