EMS Call Receiver – Full‑time Opportunity
Compensation:
$21.65 per hour
We’re hiring EMS Call Receivers that will respond to emergency and non‑emergency calls for ambulance and transportation services. The role involves assigning and routing transportation requests and providing clear communication in all situations to ensure quality support and care to our customers.
Responsibilities
Understands and implements the concepts of Emergency Medical Dispatch per Principles of Emergency Medical Dispatch and AMR customs, as a minimum standard of care.
Allocates EMS resources appropriately using decision‑making rules and approved protocols.
Ensures complete and accurate paperwork prior to shift completion.
Accurately and completely enters data for the shift, including State Run Report data entry as assigned.
Generates applicable reports and verifies accuracy.
Assists in locating incident scenes and selecting the safest, fastest route using all available locator aids.
Relays instructions from supervisors, messages, and emergency information.
Maintains current knowledge of all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and memorandums.
Follows established parameters and formats for receiving requests for service.
Utilizes equipment including computer, printers, 911 devices, recording devices, telephones, and other assigned equipment.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimal medical training or telecommunications experience, or at least one year of experience as an EMS or public safety dispatcher.
Skilled in reading and writing English.
Clear radio and telephone communication.
Accurate record‑keeping, transmission, and reporting.
Proficiency with all assigned equipment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Good typing skills with required speed and accuracy.
Basic computer application knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the healthcare industry.
