Kluever Law Group, LLC, a boutique Chicago-based law firm is seeking a skilled

Legal Assistant , with sharp attention to detail and who understands how essential effective case management is to the firm. This position is mostly remote with occasional meetings or job‑related duties that require in‑office attendance. Our ideal candidate can work independently, communicate clearly with both their team and clients, effectively prioritize their workload, and confidently navigate multiple case management systems daily. The schedule for this role is Monday‑Friday 8:30am‑5:00pm, but we are willing to accommodate and provide some flexibility.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $20 - $23/hr based on experience.

Responsibilities

Document Preparation: Draft, review, and proofread legal documents for attorney approval and signature.

Document Management: Collect required documents from clients, internal systems, and court records, and process them.

New Case Intake: Review incoming case documents for completeness, and enter key data into case management systems, and ensure proper setup.

Case Updates: Manage case files, coordinate communications, and handle document exchanges with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.

Escalations: Identify and elevate complex or unusual matters to supervising attorneys and clients as appropriate.

Professional Communications: Deliver clear, timely, and relevant communication to clients, vendors, and colleagues via case management systems, phone, and email.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 1 year of case management experience working in a law firm.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of real estate or foreclosure law practices.

Experience with CaseAware, eFiliiing, and/or eRecording, financial services case management systems such as BKFS (LPS), Tempo, and VendorScape is a "plus".

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with attention to detail and an ability to consistently meet deadlines.

Process Oriented: Must be process‑oriented with attention to detail and have a strong work ethic.

Background Check: All firm employees are required to pass a comprehensive background check.
