
Dispatcher/CDL Driver

Role Summary
The Dispatcher will act as a communication point for all calls: coordinate requests, transmit messages and track vehicles. This individual would enable different parties to communicate well by ensuring the accurate and timely transmission of information. This position will start as a dispatcher for the first 2-3 months then transition into a CDL Driver.
Role Priorities / Responsibilities
Ensure all route service drivers are working in/on pre-assigned routes/tasks each day
Answer customer calls and dispatch drivers and equipment
Document all calls
Coordinate with supervisor to allocate, schedule, and assign jobs to the workforce
Coordinate with the technicians, billable or non-billable ticket
Assign the appropriate equipment and employees to corresponding jobs
Enter data into computer system and keep dispatch records/logs and status reports
Coordinate with billing personnel
Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutionsPlans and organizes appropriate work time and resource requirements
Use radio, phone or computer to send crews, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations
Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements
Understand and identify customer safety requirements of on-site personnel and communicate to Office Manager and Ops Manager
Communicate all issues to Ops Manager in a timely and efficient manner
Essential Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
Have a firm understanding of logistics, routes, and associated equipment
Ability to remain calm and composed
Must be able to multi-task
Ability to take appropriate action with little supervision
Results oriented and driven to complete customer jobs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organization skills
Proficient computer and telephone skills
