ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE
Experts of operations, process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, providing a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Typical Responsibilities
Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:
Greet guests with friendliness, smile, wave, maintain eye contact and initiate warm, helpful interactions.
Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
Execute a detailed, accurate and efficient sorting operation.
Stock, organize and store reserve product and straighten merchandise on sales floor.
Maintain product availability on the sales floor for GM categories.
Operate powered equipment as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise (if certified).
Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU), Drive up (DU) while maintaining compliance culture (including federal, state, and local adult beverage laws).
Perform any other duties based on business needs.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
Work independently and with a team.
Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes.
Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Physical & Practical Requirements
Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
Climb up and down ladders.
Efficiently and safely scan, handle, and move merchandise—including lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 44 pounds—as part of a shift.
Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays); come to work as scheduled, take required meal and rest breaks.
Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing duties such as drive‑up or carry‑out.
Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
