Shift Schedule
2nd shift – D shift: Tuesday – Friday 4:00pm – 2:30am. E shift: Sunday – Wednesday 4:00pm – 2:30am.
Pay
$20–21 hourly.
Job Purpose
Perform loading and unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers, ensure all shipments are properly stored, pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customers, and maintain overall warehouse organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Loading/unloading truck or trailer safely and efficiently using proper procedures and equipment.
Picking and moving items weighing from 1 lb to 50 lb or more multiple times.
Ensuring all documentation is properly completed.
Coordinating with dispatch and sales to resolve discrepancies.
Storing inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
Marking all shipments correctly before storing or picking.
Maintaining warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
Spotting trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into the warehouse.
Coordinating paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
Maintaining general maintenance of the area surrounding the warehouse.
Sweeping trailers clean of any debris when empty.
Ensuring all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
Processing outbound freight and cross‑dock freight as necessary.
Operating stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
Following all safety procedures at all times.
Building pallets and breaking down stock.
Working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Performing other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Additional Responsibilities
Operating a forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
Demonstrating good communication, problem‑resolution, and people skills.
Maintaining an orderly operation of the warehouse.
Qualifications
1 year forklift driving experience.
Certified forklift license.
Education and/or Experience Required
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills
Read, write, and speak English.
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Solve practical problems with limited standardization.
Interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Determine the root cause of problems and recommend corrective action.
Computer Skills
Use business operating systems, Internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands
Easily lift or move up to 50 lb occasionally.
Operate keyboards and buttons to activate phone systems.
Speak clearly in front of others.
Work in an indoor office environment with repetitive hand motion.
Talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently.
Work over 8 hours continuously when required.
Maintain cognitive skills, accuracy, and concentration on multiple tasks.
Read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Speak and communicate clearly over telephone.
Be in sound physical health per a certified technician with no evidence of controlled substance use.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
Noise levels ranging from quiet to moderately loud.
