
Construction Accountant

Johns Service & Sales out of Oglesby, IL is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.
Pay:
Up to $65K (DOE)
Type:
Full time permanent position on site
Shift:
1st shift M-F
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records.
Assist with accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and provide insights to management.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Assist with audits and tax preparation, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field experience.
Minimum of 4 years of professional Accounting / Control experience, preferably in construction or mechanical contracting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, accruals, accounting principles, and financial regulations and WIP.
Experience with Union payroll a plus!
Proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks.
Experience with Spectrum / UKG is preferred but not required.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
