
Senior Accountant
Timbers Company, Winter Park, FL, United States
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting Timbers Corporate Office as well as all of our properties. This role will support operations and development accounting in establishing policies and procedures, preparing accurate financial statements, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring local, state, and federal taxes are prepared accurately and filed on time. This role also supports various accounting functions and contributes to departmental initiatives and process improvements.
Location: Winter Park, Florida, just north of Orlando.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the effort to establish accounting policies and procedures to be used at both the corporate office and the properties.
Support the properties to ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements are prepared to meet owner and lender obligations.
Provide support to the properties during the budgeting process to ensure all deadlines are met.
Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion to meet owner and lender deadlines.
Participate in departmental initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.
Support corporate and property accounting teams during job vacancies and staff vacations.
Assist in the onboarding and training of new accounting leaders at the properties.
Provide assistance to other accounting staff as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 3‑5 years’ experience in hospitality operational accounting at the property level.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with accounting software such as Oracle NetSuite.
Familiarity with property management systems like Opera and Springer‑Miller Systems.
Understanding of applicable laws, codes, and departmental policies.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
