Controller - Energy Sector
We a Controller with strong experience in the energy industry to lead key accounting functions. This role requires a hands‑on leader who will actively engage in day‑to‑day accounting operations while mentoring and developing a high‑performing team. This position offers the opportunity for stability and growth.
Responsibilities
Complete month‑end and year‑end close processes in timely manner
Lead and oversee accounting functions including revenue, payables and partner‑related billing activities
Leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and developing accounting staff
Active in accounting operations "must be in the weeds"
Drive improvement across accounting processes, controls, and reporting
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Support financial reporting and operational decision‑making
Required
10+ years of accounting experience within the energy or natural resources sector
Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller preferred
Strong experience working within ERP‑driven accounting environments
Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
Strong understanding of revenue accounting and cost allocation methodologies
Industry experience required
CPA preferred but not required
