World Wide Engineering & Innovation (WWEI) is seeking a Senior Design Engineering Leader to spearhead the development of next‑generation sortation systems. The role influences design and process engineering initiatives for the North American Sort Center (NASC) and projects across North America, including new facilities, renovations, and retrofits. The leader will design end‑to‑end process solutions for fulfillment centers, cross‑dock facilities, and transportation hubs while creating cost‑effective, scalable logistics systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead strategic design initiatives for global sortation and transportation networks.
Develop comprehensive solutions that optimize equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layouts while protecting intellectual property.
Partner with cross‑functional teams and vendors to deliver cost‑effective innovations under tight deadlines.
Guide large‑scale engineering projects from conception to completion, leveraging expertise in automation, robotics, and packaging technologies.
Communicate strategic visions, implementation roadmaps, and technical solutions to senior executives.
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with contractors and vendors.
Manage multiple concurrent projects and present compelling business cases to decision‑makers.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of design & innovation and research & development experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
Experience managing engineering design projects.
Proficiency in business or technical software such as MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or related field.
Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, dynamics, analysis, and reliability.
Experience with complex automated material‑handling equipment, packaging technologies, high‑speed manufacturing, and safety‑in‑design.
Strong problem‑solving, strategic thinking, and stakeholder‑management skills.

The base salary range for this position is $132,100.00 – $178,800.00 annually for USA, CA, Hesperia and $132,100.00 – $178,800.00 annually for USA, TX, CLEBURNE. The Amazon compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
