Financial Reporting Senior Accountant

Summary
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is responsible for preparing and supporting the Company’s quarterly and annual SEC and DOT filings, including Forms 10 Q, 10 K, and Form 41. This role researches, interprets, and applies U.S. GAAP to complex transactions and prepares clear, audit‑ready technical accounting memoranda. The position also supports Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance through the design, execution, and documentation of key controls, and partners cross‑functionally to drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and cost containment initiatives across the organization.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of education and experience considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986 and must pass a criminal background check.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

Years of Experience: Minimum three (3) years of related experience including public accounting and SOX/internal controls.

Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Knowledge of GAAP.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite or Office 365.

CPA or working toward obtaining CPA certification.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Outstanding integrity and teamwork.

Excellent judgment and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to interact and interface with all levels of management.

Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines.

Understanding of organizational interdependencies and cultural nuances.

Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with Workiva.

Experience with SAP and Ariba.

Experience with financial close management systems, including FloQast.

Experience with the financial statement close process and financial reporting, and/or prior public accounting experience as an auditor.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Job Duties

Analyze and oversee reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to equity, debt, leases, and other areas.

Assist in month‑end close procedures, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

Prepare and review financial statements for quarterly and annual filings.

Assist in earnings release preparation and support investor relations as needed.

Assist in preparation of other required filings, including 8Ks and the annual proxy statement.

Ensure compliance with DOT reporting requirements, including monthly and quarterly operational and financial reports.

Contribute to close and consolidation processes.

Contribute to year‑end reporting and audit process, including preparation of SEC financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors and business accounting groups.

Complete monthly/quarterly reporting to meet internal and external requirements.

Assist in providing technical guidance on complex accounting topics.

Assist in implementation of newly adopted accounting standards, policies, processes, and controls.

Stay updated on industry trends and accounting standard changes.

Maintain internal controls and policies to ensure SOX compliance.

Assist in governance of internal controls and compliance in financial reporting.

Proactively identify and measure accounting exposures.

Identify and implement innovation opportunities in financial reporting, including automation and AI.

Provide ad‑hoc information, reporting, and data analytics to management and business partners.

Ensure direct reports understand and apply customer service standards to their responsibilities.

Model customer service standards in personal actions and leadership direction.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
The role requires standing, sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and using hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24‑hour situation. Regular attendance required. Exposure to moderate noise, temperature, and light fluctuations. Ability to work in confined areas and sit at a computer terminal for extended periods. Some travel may be required.
