
Design Engineer
Otis Elevator Company, Florence, SC, United States
The Mechanical Designer position is responsible for modeling and drawing generation of a wide range of mechanical hardware and components designed for use in elevator systems. The candidate should not only be adept at handling typical design tasks (modeling and detailing) but must also be able to effectively communicate cross‑functionally.
Job Responsibilities
Provide design support to internal and external customers
Modify and develop new component solutions to increase product robustness
Support resolution of engineering issues
Develop component and system level models and drawings
Support cost reduction efforts
Support FTB reduction
Support engineers with 3D studies and prototyping
Support engineering CN process
Collaboration with engineers and internal customers
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering
Expert level experience with Creo 10 or higher
Proficient in Pro Programming
TK Note (Notepad) programming experience
Component, Assembly, Subsystem, and System Modeling
Clearance and interference studies
Use of advanced mathematics techniques for part fitment and design feasibility
Experience with defining welding, GD&T, tolerancing, material specifications and finishes within drawings and models
Parametric design and programming
Must have authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.
