Opportunity:

Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

Job Details:

  • Provide gastroenterology coverage including ERCP procedures

  • Work Monday through Friday with 9-hour shifts including 1-hour lunch break (8 billable hours)

  • Overnight call shifts of 15 hours during weekdays

  • Weekend call coverage for 24 hours

  • Complete block coverage required with full availability for all assigned dates

  • Work independently without scribe assistance for charting and documentation

  • Review all pathology results and communicate follow-up recommendations to patients through nurses

  • Perform procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, pH studies, manometry, sigmoidoscopy, and PEG/PEG-J tube placement

  • ERCP and EUS capabilities preferred

  • Utilize 4 procedure rooms/endoscopy suites with Olympus equipment

  • Conduct hydrogen breath testing and capsule endoscopy

  • Work with propofol sedation protocols

  • Use Cerner, gGastro, and Athena electronic medical record systems

  • Average caseload of 12 patients per day for procedures with fewer inpatients

  • Must be board certified with fellowship training

  • ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications required

  • Michigan medical license required
