Overview

Implements and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, compressor stations, plant operations and measurement facilities.
Essential duties and responsibilities include installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and adjustment of various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems; performing preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment; conducting Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems; maintaining electrical switch gear and power distribution; leading efforts to develop and implement changes as a result of analytical testing; assisting Corrosion and Engineering personnel with the evaluation, development, implementation and maintenance of facility grounding systems; installing, analyzing and repairing security/intrusion systems; ensuring general upkeep and maintenance of facilities and equipment; overseeing construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties; identifying, reporting and correcting safety and environmental concerns; completing appropriate documentation and record keeping; complying with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements; mentoring fellow employees when possible; maintaining regular and predictable attendance; upholding personal safety and the safety of others and company assets; responding to call-outs and working overtime as necessary; performing other duties as assigned.
Position Description
Primary purpose:

Implements and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment, control and automation systems, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pipeline, compressor stations, plant operations and measurement facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts various pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, electronic, and Programmable Logic (PLC) control systems.
Performs preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment.
Performs Inspection and Maintenance (I & M) checks on all control systems.
Maintains electrical switch gear and power distribution.
Leads efforts to develop and implement changes as a result of analytical testing.
Assists Corrosion and Engineering personnel with the evaluation, development, implementation and maintenance of facility grounding systems.
Required to take assessment testing for meeting level progression.
Installs, analyzes and repairs security/intrusion systems.
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
Oversees the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
Identifies, reports and corrects safety and environmental concerns.
Completes appropriate documentation and record keeping.
Performs all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
Mentors fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Maintains a high regard for personal safety, the safety of employees, the general public and company assets.
Responds to call-outs and works overtime as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:
Education
High School Diploma with 1-3 years of equivalent skills (instrumentation, automation, electrical controls) and experience.
Experience / Specific Knowledge
Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
Knowledge of electronic test instruments and equipment.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that meets company insurability requirements.
May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations.
Will be required to achieve and maintain operator qualifications and may be required to obtain certifications as required to perform specific job duties.

Physical Demands

Position requires standing, walking and sitting while working indoors or outdoors.
Must be able to consistently lift a minimum of 20 lbs; may be required to lift up to 50 lbs in awkward positions.
Must be able to lift, carry, pull or push, reach, squat, kneel and/or climb ladders or stairs.
Physical dexterity and hand grip strength, depth perception and other physical attributes required to perform the job safely.
Ability to use hand tools; repetitive hand use requiring grasp and twisting motions.
May periodically enter confined spaces and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
May work in low-lit areas.
Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Working Conditions

Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions.
Travel may be required depending on location and workload.
Must wear PPE appropriate for job duty or task.
Must be able to work after hours, on-call nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
Must live within a reasonable response time (45 minutes) to reporting location as determined by local management.
May be required to carry a company-provided communication device to respond during working and non-working hours.
