Position Overview
The Senior BIM Designer MEP Engineer will be responsible for reviewing project Revit and Navisworks models, assessing model development and modeling standards, ensuring adherence to BIM standards, and compiling comments on the same. They will support partner teams such as design, construction, and operations. The BIM Designer MEP will also establish and maintain BIM standards, processes, and workflows, and manage the BIM lifecycle of multiple design projects across the globe. Additionally, the candidate will develop piping, instrumentation, and electrical plantroom layouts along with single line diagrams and schematics.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement BIM strategy, establish BIM standards, processes, and workflows, and educate internal teams in BIM software and procedures.
Oversee all aspects of the data center life cycle—from design and construction to maintenance—through BIM models.
Lead discussions on engineering and construction best practices, sharing knowledge to establish new standards.
Develop BIM implementation strategy and deliver complex international projects.
Ensure BIM files meet Fleet Data Center standards and follow BIM guidelines by reviewing consultant BIM documentation, files, coordinate outputs, and validating data quality.
Manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), establishing procedures and supporting efficient management of multi-stakeholder projects.
Coordinate BIM execution and project delivery with project leadership.
Create and maintain the project’s industry framework documents including BEP, MIDP, MPDT, and appendices.
Provide technical support, establish data-integrated workflows, and train project teams.
Oversee production of smart object content, templates, and libraries; deploy Fleet Data Centers content management system Autodesk Content Catalog or other platforms.
Administer digital quality assurance control procedures.
Work with multiple design and engineering professionals on concepts and build projects.
Required Qualifications
Extensive experience managing MEP delivery across multiple projects or business units.
5+ years of design and construction experience.
5+ years working with Revit.
5+ years working with Navisworks.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent organization skills in archival and maintenance operations of project documents.
Experience with Tier 1 contractor projects or complex multi-disciplinary programs.
Familiarity with digital construction tools, BIM, and lean methodologies.
Extensive knowledge of software packages such as ACC and Procore.
Experience establishing and managing BIM and VDC models, including orientation, geo‑positioning, coordination, and model reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, building services or related discipline.
Experience in mission‑critical design.
Experience in piping design and chilled water piping and instrumentation layout, plantroom layout design and electrical architecture.
Professional accreditation or membership of a relevant body such as CIBSE, IET, Engineers Ireland.
Postgraduate qualification in building services, project management or sustainability.
Training in digital design, BIM management or innovative MEP technologies.

Expected Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 Salary + Discretionary Bonus. Locations: Seattle, WA (Mercer Island), Denver, CO, or Alexandria, VA.
