This physician provides ongoing psychiatric care to a vulnerable population of Veterans in an outpatient setting and provides a full array of psycho-diagnostic, psychotherapeutic and pharmacological management. They will provide services to Veterans in a BHIP/Outpatient team setting that will include multi-disciplinary approaches. Outpatient psychiatrists have occasional on call responsibility. The Outpatient Psychiatrist functions within the Mental Health Service. The Chief of Psychiatry provides direct clinical and administrative supervision. - Prescribe and manage medications, including Spravato, ensuring patient safety and efficacy.
- Administer and oversee TMS therapy sessions, monitoring patient progress and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to support patients' mental health and well-being.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, psychologists, therapists, and nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice in SC
- Experience with outpatient psychiatric care preferred.
- Proficiency in administering and managing Spravato and TMS is highly desirable, however we can train and certify.
