Research Internship, Center for Strategy and American Statecraft – Summer 2026
Washington, DC – Internship, Co-op, or Experiential Learning
Hudson Institute is seeking interns to gain experience in policy research on a range of issues including the Indo‑Pacific, the war in Ukraine and Russia, the war in Israel, and more. This intern will provide research and administrative support to the Center for Strategy and American Statecraft. Interns will spend significant time discussing these issues with their expert(s). Those onsite will also have the opportunity to assist with, and attend, Hudson Institute public events, as well as intern‑specific events featuring Hudson scholars and experts across Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
Perform background research for weekly columns and podcasts.
Gather and analyze data for inclusion in reports and articles.
Keep the expert and team up to date on current events.
Assist the expert with research projects and presentations.
Assist with articles, op‑eds, reports, and briefing memos.
Assist with administrative tasks and event support.
Requirements
Recent graduates or current students working toward a degree in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, history, or related fields.
Demonstrated interest in American foreign policy, public policy, and workforce politics.
Willingness to research new topics each week across a range of regional foci.
Ability to work independently, manage time wisely, and meet deadlines.
Detail‑focused, reliable, professional, possessing strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
Willingness to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.
